Helped to change oil on my friends 07 BMW 335i Twin Turbo today.
Finally talked him into using m1 0w-40 instead of m1 5w-30.(it came out thinner than I would like it and black, much more black than unknown oil that came out from 550i in my sig after more than 14k miles on it).
He brought this filter from AZ, said should of get m1 since it was made in US.
Filter looks good, unfortunately didn't count pleats. Made in Korea,
And bonus, used NAPA equivalent, that was on the car for 7500-8500 miles, he was not sure on exact number. It was made in Poland.

No inner support at all on that one. Interesting. I am guessing the vehicle itself supports the inside of the media somehow?

Yes, look like inside tube on GM cartridge filters, with triangle like pimp on top.
Filter is placed vertically on top part of engine.

Most cartridge oil filters for Mercedes and BMW are just like that, support for the media is the filter holder.

A lot of filter companies farm out their cartridge filters to 3rd party companies. The Korean company that made that Bosch, also makes Wix, Napa, AC Delco filters. They make quality filters.

Why do you have a bottle of urine in the picture?
