Thanks for the educational link, sprintman. They forget to mention Lawrence Hargrave was a Brit.

That's why I mentioned it.

I always wanted to learn boomeranging, but the learning curve can be painful and costly with a lot of potential for collateral damage in the city.

the last of our EF-111s were retired in about 1998. the navy took over the radar jamming/recon role with EA-6Bs that the last EF-111s out of Cannon AFB were doing. they were not replaced by the B-1b, the B-1b hasn't replaced anything that it was supposed to ;0
We have even retired the F-14 which was developed after the F-111 to meet the Navy's needs.

The electronics may have been upgraded but that is still an old airframe and a really old powerplant.

Australia. Boeing support facility at Amberly. When you are as isolated as we are you have to be inventive to survive. A highly educated population and a 'can do' attitude makes things happen. Australia exports military technology to the U.S and other countries of course. F35 voice recognition system is just one export to you. Google DSTO for more...s

Wow, Australia must be making THE best American products. I get the impression Australia is really USA-ULTRA.

PS: The croc hunter is another of your excellent exports.

Even when you strip away the typical Ozzie hyperbole, they do a lot of things very well for a country with a population less the 2/3 of California's.

Based on the other Aussies I know in person, you should have said, "the sprintman typical hyperbole."

Based on the Aussies I know in person, it's pretty typical. If I were an Aussie I would be pretty pumped up about it too. I wouldn't talk funny like they do though

XS650 well said. Some people who shall remain nameless are to tied up in their own little world. Most Australian's remember well when the Diggers returned from Vietnam. A famous quote when a reporter asked "what's the main difference between Australians and Americans?" He replied "American's live in America, Australian's live in the world." Speaks volumes that.
