Picked this up on RockAuto. It’s a 85231. Am I missing something? No holes or louvres?

That has me thinking too. Premium guard doesn't make oil filters in the US unless i'm mistaken. But the old stock carquest filters were made in the USMade in USA by whom?
Premium Guard doesn't make oil filters, they sub-contract them to outfits that do, at least that's my takeaway from what they state on their website:That has me thinking too. Premium guard doesn't make oil filters in the US unless i'm mistaken. But the old stock carquest filters were made in the US
I just bought 2 CQ reds from AAP. Reading recently, I've seen a few people mention that the CQ's are now made by Purolator. Can anyone confirm this because I'm really hoping that they are still made by wix.

They should send you a replacement given that this is clearly defective. If they don't make you send it back, you absolutely need to C&P this puppy!Picked this up on RockAuto. It’s a 85231. Am I missing something? No holes or louvres?

Just imagine the headache you would have had if you toasted an engine .That's a first for me. Seen bad louvers, but not that. Good thing you checked.

Per PGI? It looks like an old Wix/M+H build. Date code in post 19 shows 112515 (Nov 25, 2015).That’s a very old Carquest pre PGI. These are from 2007.
