out/off: 5 quarts Valvoline Restore and Protect 5w30 and 1 quart HPL Engine Cleaner 30 with Carquest Premium 84502

in/on: 6 quarts HPL PCEO 5w-40 with Carquest Extended Protection P84502

looks good, Valvoline Restore and Protect +EC30 did some cleaning.

it was used. i swapped it like 3 years ago. motor came off marketplace for $800. i put plugs, gaskets and a water pump on it and it’s run great ever since. truck is a local only vehicle due to this fact so it may not stack mileage quickly but it sure does get a ton of idle hours.

Don’t want to derail but curious what happened to the first 6.0? Always thought they we indestructible, I’ve had a few of them. All seem very high idle hours, one had over 20,000 hours on it and ran good when I sold it. 6k OCI.

before i started tracking oil changes with samsara. operator skipped 3 OCI’s and ran out of oil. it was still running, just had metallic oil and i couldn’t give it the blessing to return to service like that.

That checks out. A guy at work went 90k km and about 2500 hrs on the factory fill and that did one in.

6.leakers are about the most bomb proof V8 gasser from 1999-2019. they just made power and didn’t care about anything else along the way other than a fuel station.
