Vehicle calls for a M1-113A filter, when I interchange that to CarQuest Premium, it shows 84060 with a bypass setting of 12-15psi. If I look it up by application from Advance, it shows 95140 with a bypass setting of 25psi. The filter size is nearly identical. Does it really matter which one is used? Who do I believe for the proper filter listing?

'24 Trailblazer 1.2l

when i look that vehicle up on AAP it shows M1-114a filter and the 95140 as well as the acdelco pf64. i would go with the 95140

Doesn't the filter media also matter when considering the bypass PSI?

I thought it was about the pressure delta across the media, not a raw psi / oil pressure value. Pressure delta is impacted by the media construction. If that's the case, I'm not sure we can just blindly choose it based on PSI alone.

Ok, apparently my catalog system at work is incorrect. It shows M1-113a and 84060. Advance's catalog shows the M1-114A and 95140. I guess that is the way that I am going lol

The M1-113A is equivalent to a PF48. As BrendanC said, the 24 Trailblazer takes a PF64. Go with the 95140.

I would (and did) look it up with Chevy's parts finder if I had any questions about which filter your vehicle takes. It is PF64, cross check that model if you want a different brand.

I have found that it’s quite difficult to get the bypass settings for a lot of filters and it’s a pretty important thing to know! The filter that Mobil 1 claims is good for the C7 Corvette actually has a bypass setting that is too low. GM has a TSB stating that the oil filters on these cars needs to have a setting of 22 PSI but the M1 filter is set to 12-15 PSI.

I can’t even seem to find what the new PG made CQP filter is for my car, one source says 20 PSI and the other says 25. When it was made by Wix they said it was 22 PSI.

Mobil never admitted they screwed up with the C7 filter, but eventually they started recommending the M1-114A with the proper bypass setting. But plenty of cross-references still show the wrong M1-113A.
