Getting ready to do my last change on my f150 before winter. I have two filters left in my stash, 1-carquest 85372 champion blue (date 2015)and 2- hastings lf110 (date 2013).pick my next filter! And is the hastings filter from 2013 still good to use without issue?

I would go ahead and use the older one and save the newer one for next time. It should be good as long as there isn't any rust in it and the gasket isn't broke/damaged/dried out for some reason. Go by what you trust and can see.

Hastings = Baldwin. Great filters, equivalent to Wix except for non-silicone valve on Baldwin/Hastings. Older filter no problem if no rust, etc. present. Also Baldwin is very popular, heavy-duty truck filter. Nothing wrong with Champion either...another well known, old-line major filter company.

Thanks you guys for the fast replies. ..i was leaning towards the hastings on the beginning. And 901memphis....i saw that video and i have the current version not the future version shown in that specific video. Im sure its still a solid filter though dont you think?

Big...yeah i saw that about the carquest blues. This filter has a date of Feb 2015 prob just before any switch had started. Have seen wix versions of this filter but not champ. It definitely has the feel of a quality filter.

Local carquest does not have the Baldwin versions yet and have yet to find a site online who would sell them for my 5.4...

Champ is supplying the Carquest red and light duty blue filters. Baldwin is supplying the off-road/HD blue filters.
