I keep mine simple. Only the important work - maintenance and repair - with mileage and date. I don't think receipts are important. Prior work is easy to look up.

One for maintenance + repairs and another for fuel mileage.
STORY: I sold a neighbor's car listing all the maintenance in a chronological column in a Cars.com ad.
A friend saw the ad and scolded me to the tune of, "WAY too much information".
The next day a guy bought the car.
He loved the maintenance record and simply asked if the car was presentable as it was for his wife who worked at a golf club.
But yes, I have seen the expression on people's faces (a real stupid one) when they see the printed maintenance list.
The littlest things upend so many people. And we keep saying we're smart. I ain't buying it.
