Car Driver Targets School Children

Last week children were attacked by a man with a knife, this week it's a man attacking children with a car.

Makes for good reason to ban cars and firecrackers...

But the thing that most hang their arguments upon, and it a good point, was mentioned in the news article.

"China has seen more than a half-dozen school attacks in less than three years, though the death tolls have been mostly in single digits, largely because knives have been the most-used weapon. China largely prohibits private ownership of guns."

2nd amendment guarantees aside, comments like this gain a LOT of traction with many.

It goes along with what I have said many times. "Where there is a will, there is a way".

Just because he didn't have access to something easier, sure didn't stop him... He found a way. What it he'd done a better job at it? Thirteen wounded could have been 13 dead. Or 30 dead. Broken and evil people are everywhere. Given the chance they'll find a way to make their mark.

Until some hacker makes a virus spread by cell towers, that causes all those automated cars to go full throttle and run into each other, thus causing mass vehicular carnage and death and stuff. THEN we can outlaw the motor vehicle!!

I read a report that the baseball bat was the weapon of choice in the majority of murders in the US. I think we need to register baseball bats and in some instances like NY state confiscate them.

Gee automobiles can be used as a weapon to kill also, sometimes by accident sometimes by driver suicide. Do we ban automobiles also, then we can all walk again of if we are lucky ride a horse

When is this country going to get serious about using common sense and not go after the weapon but the refugees from a mental hospital that use them.

it is scary that anyone with a driver's license has the potential to injure or kill a lot of people. not sure if there's anything really that we can do about that though. sometimes you're just in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Given the choice, I'd rather shoot a lot of people with a gun than run them down in a car. I guess that's why it's the weapon of choice for mass killings.

Silk, don't try and have a rational argument. 68% of murders in America are by firearms. I guess bats must by 69%. But let's keep bringing up all the other stories as soon as someone is killed to point out that yes, indeed, there are multiple ways to take a life. Makes for effective and rational dialogues that will actually benefit our society.
