It's great that he has 300,000 mi on his engine, but he really should have it re-built. It's a little more expensive than buying a few quarts of oil every day (
), but much more cheap than having to get a new engine, which is what I had to do.
My Roadmaster had the "classic" dino oil sludge leak blockage, and I made the mistake of filling with the green gold. On the way home one day, I added a litre of oil, then proceeded to drive home. It all leaked on the way home, and I destroyed the bearings and crankshaft.
It's been replaced, and with the new seals, etc, and with the GC that everyone raves about.
I was told I could have halved my bill by just saying it had an oil leak and needed the seals etc fixed.
