Can't find electrical sealant at stores

Hey everyone I am doing an electrical project because I bought custom LED brake lights with integrated turn signals for my '02 Honda CBR 600 F4i.

It looks like I'll have to order some online as Lowes, and my local electrical parts store doesn't have what I am searching for.

I'm specifically looking for RTV Silicone sealant for electrical wiring that is non-corrosive. I found a couple online but is there a specific brand you could recommend?

Thanks!

Edit: Loctite was one of the brands that came up. They are a pretty notorious company and usually sell great products, would they be recommended?

So since I have integrated turn signals with the brake light LEDs I can just mix the blinker fluid with my brake fluid

Here's some potting compound as mentioned:

Hey that might do the trick. Looks like the dowcorning application is in a town near me as well. I am leaning more towards that 3M-Scotch-Weld Epoxy Potting compound as well.

Thank you so much for the links! Would you have a recommendation of one you would prefer?

The guy that mentioned the potting compound is pretty knowledgeable on this sort of thing so I'd go for the Potting Compound product. 3M is good stuff.

Great.

So eljefino, what potting compound would you recommend? Is the 3M one good and why recommend a potting compound over an RTV Silicone sealant? JW.

I only know I've found the goo inside dodge ECMs and it's rough to get out!

Get a name brand, how wrong could it be?

Then I will get the 3M. I typically like their products anyway.

Again to all, thanks for the help very much!

Funny, it seems you can never find blinker fluid at stores either

They use that same potting compound inside of halogen bulbs.

Al with 16273 post is the forum idiot.

Dow Corning 3145 is what you need, but you will probably not find it locally and need to order it.

Since it's on a motorcycle and I don't plan on riding it if there is more than a 20% chance of rain, I wasn't really looking for water resistant but to be on the safe side it would be nice.

What do you ean it will run when wet?

what are you sealing?
If you are just sealing the wire connections...use waterproof butt connectors. They are a butt connector that has heat shrink on it, as well as a liquid adhesive that melts when heated to seal the connection.

The black automotive Loctite is great and easy to find. Sticks to plastic quite well. Not too difficult to remove.

I am sealing up these custom LED lights. I ordered them through CustomLED.com. They are a 1.85" round board that have led lights and wiring on them. They have no housing or anything, so I need sealant as they are very delecate so that I ensure that no water will get into the brake light housings already in the bike.

By run when wet I mean that the material will flow like a liquid before it sets up hard or firm. Potting compounds can flow like a liquid, or a really thick liquid, before they set up. You probably want something that will not run or flow like a liquid when you initially use it. You probably want something that will stay in place before it sets up.
