CC and 7up was a popular drink for me years ago, this past holiday month I polished of a bottle of Crown Royal with Coke, that was good stuff, I rarely drink these days, but when I do, I like the good stuff.

My mom used to drink Windsor and Coke. Never was a big fan, I prefer bourbon, Scotch, or Kentucky whiskey.

Pretty much any whiskey that isn't bottom shelf is alright, as long as you don't drink too much.

For lower-middle priced whiskey/bourbon give me a bottle of Wild Turkey 101 any day!

The survey says, "NO"...

ZZZZZZZZiiiinggg!

I'm beginning to appreciate the precise comedic timing of Mori's remarks, enough to (still) think that Mori = HAL.

Pot does affect motivation, maybe it makes the SHIFT key seem really, really far away.

BTW, marijuana use has NOT yet been de-criminalized in the USA, so take it over to the High Times forum with your doper talk, hippy!

I have a friend that has always drank CC and 7s.

Its not bad. Ive had a few in my time, but Im a beer drinker.

Moosehead/Labatts "good stuff"
Miller High Life for the "everyday refreshment"

For you Canadian Whisky fans, you have to try Forty Creek Whisky. I was a lifetime Crown drinker until I tried this stuff. They finish the whisky in sherry casks which gives it almost a caramel tone. It is much fuller than most Canadian blends. Nice!

Sounds like Bushmill's Black Bush. BB is Irish, but it is also aged in sherry casks, which yields a whiskey that is near and dear to my heart.

Please, do me a big favor and try either of the following:

Makers Mark

Woodford Reserve

You will, I swear, give up Canadian Whiskey and even Tennessee Whiskey (JD-pretty good for what it is).

I agree with you that both are better than Crown but Wild Turkey Rare breed IMO is better than any of them. Woodford has too much oak flavor for me. And Makers does not have enough flavor. A really good cheap one to try is Elijah Craig 12 yr. It is one of the best and is on the cheaper side. Oh and Wild Turkey is made in Tn but Jack is terrible. I used to judge Whiskey by tasting Jack D, UGhhh that stuff is awful.

I like Kentucky Bourbon a lot! But I'm too cheap for Maker's Mark or Woodford Reserve. I go for the Jim Beam. Maybe one day when I want to spend over $20 a fifth I might give them a try.

I like all whiskey. It's my favorite liquor by far.

Try the Elijah Craig! Its cheap and better than Jim Beam. I like the Jim Beam Black but this is still better and still cheap.

and where in the devil did you get that Wild Turkey is made in Tennessee??!! It is made in Lawrenceburg, KY, a few miles from where I was born and raised.

But y'all are right on one thing - JD is nothing compared to Wild Turkey. The main thing, IMO, that WT has going for it is that it offers a Rye Whiskey in addition to the straight corn mash variety. Our forefathers distilled MUCH rye whiskey, but somehow, the Irish immigrants overran the rest and the corn mash won out. Blame Prohibition too. For years it was hard to find a good (and reasonable) rye whiskey. Beam is cheap, harsh bourbon. It's distant cousin, Knob Creek, however, is delicious. Let's hash around others:

Ancient Age
George Dickel
Old Fitzgerald
Old Grandad
Old Crow
