ON, Canada eh?
*UGH* pricing is getting ridiculous. When there is a sale there is never inventory either.
This is what was actually on the shelf. Everything else was empty in the other spots. No Valvoline to be seen.

Wow, that's ridiculous, with the current exchange rate 1 - 7.6, $57.98 CDN = $44.19 USD. What if you drove scross the border, bought oil at a US Wal-Mart then drove back say once a year?

No there is 13% tax on top of that in Ontario. It's because our dollar is worth about 30% less than the USD at the present time.

I'd have to stay in the U.S. 48 hours to have a legal exemption of $800 Canadian worth per person but the problem is that usually when I go to Walmart in any US state they are sold out or have very little of what I want on the shelves. It's part of the reason I just buy Amsoil. Shipped to my door for free for preferred customer price, always in stock.

You can get Edge or M1 for $35 a jug on sale at a different store, Canadian Tire. The same store had M1 for $25 a jug not too long ago. I've never paid more than $35 per jug and it feels like one of M1 or Edge is on sale all the time.

My Walmart just started putting Maxlife ATF on the shelves for the first time ever!

But otherwise while they have occasional good deals on cheaper oils (Pennzoil conventional, Valvoline conventional, etc) they don't have a good selection of oils. The one near me is pretty well stocked and always worth taking a peek at their automotive aisle.

I swear the indie shops are buying it all up here because as soon as the sale hits it's gone. Even days before when they release the flyer but the sale doesn't start for a few days folks will clear out the shelves and then go back with their receipts to claim the difference back under the sale price policy.

It's nuts!

Need to keep a small stash, and buy on sale at either Canadian Tire or Walmart when the stash is getting low. The regular price for M1 and other synthetics is a bit ridiculous, especially when you see the reasonable prices at a U.S. Walmart for the same stuff.

Wow, there is a small ct like 1500m from my house that always has. There's a few bigger ones within 10km or so. CT is becoming my go to for fluids, they had generic dex concentrate at 15% off just when I needed it. They have pretty much all types of generic black bottle coolant now, which is very handy.

Maybe it is over now but the last time I was in my local WalMart looking for the $28.88 Rollback Pennzoil, the worker, who scanned the price tag on the shelf and said more was coming in the end of October told me the Rollback was in effect until sometime in December.

That was a couple weeks ago (mentioned it in the promo section at the bottom of the site) so maybe things changed unannounced? I haven't been back since but was hoping to in the next couple of days.

I have noticed not all WalMarts carry the same/amount of stock as others. The one in Whitby, which isn't far from me, carries different amounts and selections than the one here in Oshawa at the Taunton/Harmony store.
I have never been in the one in South Oshawa but I assume it is also different than these 2?

Edit: Meant to mention, don't ever go by what is written/shown in Walmart.ca or .com Prices are all over the place there with all oils!!

All 4 of mine including the 2 part source locations within a quick drive are always sold out as are the 4 Walmarts whenever things go on sale. It's crazy.

I'm good with Amsoil, I was just complaining because even if I wanted to use something from the shelf it's a challenge and the regular price is ridiculous.

Regular price is ridiculous, that is for sure. I hope these sale prices never end, and although I likely have enough oil and filters for 2+ years for all 3 vehicles, it would pain me immensely if I ever had to pay almost $60 for a jug of oil!

No one that frequents BITOG buys oil at those prices.

Just bought 2 - 5L jugs of PP at Canadian Tire for $29.49. With the $10 rebate per jug, paid ~ $23 per jug after tax CDN.

I stopped buying oil from Canadian Walmarts years ago, their inventory is terrible now. For the longest time the best deal for me was to wait until I was in the US and go to a Walmart there. Especially with those $22.88 jugs of M1. But since I no longer use the regular M1, I cannot find any of the oils that I currently use in the US Walmarts, but Canadian Tire sells them and when on sale they are priced less than what they would generally have cost to buy in the US too.

It's sad really, Walmart Canada was my go to place for buying GC 0w30 when it first hit the shelves here 15+ years ago.

I honestly can't complain with the selection at my Local WalMart store. Although, being strictly a Pennzoil user, I usually see all kinds of brands at my store. I also noticed they now carry Fram XG filters where, years past, all you could find were the Extra Guards.

I suppose this store likely sells its share of oils compared to some other stores and maybe that is why my store seems to be getting better instead of worse?

I've also noticed my local CDN store seems to be upping their game as well. 2 floor to about 6-7 feet up shelves with all kinds of flavors and usually a very good supply/stock of filters too.
