Can you run the ac with the windows down?

If it's too hot to have the windows down, then why do you have them down? I'm not following...
He probably gets in the car after it's turned into an oven under the sun. I avoid that as much as I can but I try to get some airflow going and get the hot air out of the car by driving it. I may drive for a mile or so with the windows down before turning the A/C on and rolling the windows up. But I do not run the AC with the windows down for more than a few seconds.

I often run the AC with the windows down for a minute or two when getting into a hot car. Gets the AC up to speed and having the windows open cools the car off quite rapidly. Can't imagine that would hurt anything.

Are you dog? Because on the internet no one knows you are dog.

Dog like to ride with the window down das why. And no one with perfectly working AC should drive with the windows down, unless you are dog.

You realize there's a temperature knob ? You can run the AC set to "hot" if you want.
Wife makes me want to pull my hair our every time I see her with the A/C cranking and at same time she has the temp knobs set on 78deg or so! I keep trying to explain it to her , it is like running the A/C heater (there is none really) at same time.

I used to run it all the time when I had the targa top off my 05 C6 Corvette. The A/C still worked great when I sold it 18 years later. It doesn't hurt anything to run the A/C with the windows or top down. Think of all the police vehicles that just sit with the A/C on and it's 100 degrees or more with no air flowing when the vehicle is stopped.

Do an experiment. If you have a digital mpg gallon indicator, drive with the windows up, then drive with the windows up and the AC on, then drive with the windows down with no AC, then with the windows down and the AC on.
See if you notice any difference.

Driving with the windows down and the AC on will mimic a hotter day.

I don't think the OP was concerned with fuel economy, when he wrote "hurt"?
