Yes, only a few actual manufacturers make most of those appliances.

Same goes for car batteries that only have 3 companies making most of the ones sold in the US: Exide, East Penn/Deka, and JCI/Clarios.

The Australian Kmart and Target stores really are basically identical to each other except for the name.
