Can Motor Oil Remain Cheap?

With gasoline approaching two bucks a gallon, can a half gallon of motor oil (2 quarts) remain at basically the equivalent price?

we as consumers use way more gasoline than oil. I wonder if motor has alot of profit?

My take is that in terms of consumption, I use 7 litres of oil in 10,000km, and 1000 litres of fuel.

It's a very small part of the market, but should track crude prices to some (small) degree.

Well, you could barter someone 2 oil changes for a tankful of gas.

an oil change (assuming free labour)

* Mobil 1 0W-40 and Nissan Filter $110Oz

Shannow, 2 oil changes here (do it yourself) about 14 bucks.

Filling my wife's Explorer cost me 36 bucks last week.
