Can I use Dexron VI in a VW 09G?

2005 Jetta MK5. Have a good stash of Dexron and see Valvoline Maxlife is often suggested here for that Aisin transmission, so would Dexron work just as well?

Yes I saw those threads but didn't show anything conclusive. Will give it a try and see what happens.

It will probably work, and even if it doesn't, it's easy to change the fluid

What version of Dexron is it? Dexron III?
