Can a cartridge filter handle 5K OC intervals?

Hello,

I was wondering if a cartridge type filter could handle 5000mile oil change intervals. It's a 2005 Mazda 3 2.3L.

Anyway, yes the cartridge filter is fine for 5K mile OCI's. In fact, that's what the factory recommends (7500K miles for easy driving conditions).

Our Fords with them are recommended at 5k/6M change intervals unless you get the hybrid then you are at 10K/1YR

The cartridge filter in my bmw is rated for 15k intervals. It's a big one though.
