As a follow up to the Prius alignment thread, I purchased a Moog K90475 camber bolt. Strangely, the camber bolt has a 15mm head and a 18mm washer, which is a bit small compared to the OE bolt and washer.
I plan to install the bolt, then take the car back for an alignment check. However, the alignment is 40+ miles away, so I really don't want the car to be significantly out of alignment during the drive. The instructions say to install the camber bolt finger tight, loosen the lower strut mount bolt, then turn the camber bolt to perform the adjustment.
If I only install the camber bolt and did not touch the lower strut mounting bolt, is that safe? Because I am assuming that if I do not loosen the lower strut mounting bolt, no change to the camber will occur.
Thanks!
