I liked how it is was written.
If I didn't have so much money in the Trans Am(heads, cam, headers you get the picture), I would have an SS sitting in the garage.

Good article.

My personal opinion was that the announcement of the 5.0L pretty much killed 2010 Mustang V8 sales. Who wants a 310HP 4.6L when you can get the 5.0?

I have to agree with you, Overkill. I wouldn't buy a 2010 Mustang unless it was half price.

I'm a hard core GM/Camaro fan, but I'm seriously considering the new Boss 302 Mustang. Heck, the new Camaro isn't even an F-body.

So am I. I see a BOSS 302 in my stable in the future for sure. My wife says she'll kill me but I know she likes 'em too

SAME HERE!!

I would even take it over a 5th gen, LSA engined, Z28, unless GM found an affordable way to strip ~500-600 lbs. off of it!!

i have been driving chrysler cars/trucks from 1965. about 35 cars. i have come to under stand that each brand has its good points and bad. i made a cat mad at me. he was putting down my chryslers, i had to stop him. i said " i can tell you more negative things about chryslers than you can. so dont tell me the negative things about chryslers."

Whoever wins, it's a great sign for the American automotive industry. And I would love to see comparitive sales to the "tuner cars" like the 370 and such.

Yea, but how long will the Chevy run?

The Ford will at least make it for ~20 years..the GM..maybe 6

Heh, GM cars might not always be the most trouble free, but they can run a long time, as long as anyone elses (usually).

Both the Camaro and Mustang are awesome cars, but I would take the 'Stang over the Camaro as long as the 'Stang is a 2011 model. The 2010 and older models are dogs, comparitively speaking...

Agreed

Now let's see if the Camaro can repeat the performance in 2011.

It almost seems like the 'Stang (and to a lesser extent, the 5th gen Camaro) are actually cutting into the 'performance' imports' sales, something I never thought I'd see (but am VERY glad to see!!!

).
At least going by how many younger drivers I see in them around here.

Maybe V.Gittin driving (and WINNING in) a stang in drift competition, and being featured so many times in the 'tuner' rags had some influence on the "import nameplate/Japan/JDM ONLY" crowd??

This. I've never remotely entertained the notion of a Mustang, but this latest iteration is pretty cool.

I was surprised -- as I see very few around here. I guess there's just so many 05-10 Mustangs, that one doesn't notice the Camaros.

I still wish they'd bring back the low cost performance trim levels though. Remember the LX 5.0? All the go-fast goodies without all the bells and whistles meant you could get a car that was just as fast (or faster in some cases due to less weight) at a much lower price. That would really be nice today considering the big price tag on these cars....

Yeah I remember you could get a Mustang LX 5.0 for around $13K or the Firebird Formula 350 with all the performace suspension, tires, and brakes for $15K, or about 20% less than the higher priced models. These weren't stripped down either, A/C, pwr windows, locks, mirrors and cruise control.
