Has anyone used Cam2 ATF4 transmission fluid in any Chrysler Vehicles? I understand it isn't licensed for use by Chrysler but it was used by a mechanic that I used to go to. It seemed to help the vehicles get better gas milage at that time about 25 years ago. The shop had changed hands and they no longer use it. I purchased the lifetime warranty on my current vehicle that was purchased new in 2013 and hesitant to use it so I won't void the warranty. Has anyone been using it recently and what is your experience with it?

It's ok but do you have it on hand or no? You can buy 1 gallon jugs of valvoline atf +4 for around 30 at autozone. Castrol transmax is also a great substitute and walmart sells jugs for $24 and it does state atf +4 and it's also 7cst like the proper +4 while maxlife is too thin at just under 6 cst.

There's nothing wrong with Cam2 ATF4, but the best ATF to use where ATF+4 is required is Redline C+

Also, if your transmission doesn't have a drain plug, get an aftermarket pan that has one. It will make the job much easier :D
Thanks. What is your experience with Redline C+? Did you notice any improvement with the gas milage or shifting? I was also thinking about an extra capacity transmission pan for my transmission as well.

Cam2 is the company brand for Warren Distribution, which manufacturers SuperTech for Walmart, Kirkland brand oil for Costco and Amazon Basics oil. Their Mopar licensed ATF+4 is going to perform perfectly for you.

I didn't see it on the Mopar Licensed list. is there a new or older list that it's listed on?

Hoo boy! I think you're right about the license. I notice that they are labeling it as "ATF 4" and not "ATF+4". That said, I wouldn't be too worried about using it in my Chrysler rigs. It's not like the formula or recipe for ATF+4 is a secret or anything.

I'm vert tempted to. But I am concerned with my warranty. I bought the lifetime warranty with my vehicle and I don't want them to have an excuse to void it other than that the cost of repairs cost more than the vehicle is worth as stated in the warranty contract. Once they give me that news, I will definitely give it a try granting the overall condition of the vehicle.

I use Redline C+ in my manual transmission in my 2018 Jeep Wrangler. I felt like it became very slightly quieter and smoother with it. But that may be just my imagination. But it is what I run. They claim it is superior to ATF+4. I have no reason to believe it is not exactly what they claim.

Okay. I like to use better parts and oils and such when I can. i appreciate your time and patience.

I've used the Cam2 ATF4 in our '12 Ram 1500. Zero issues. This was just a single spill 'n fill IIRC. And it was YEARS ago, so maybe the formulation of their product has changed. I'd definitely use it again, esp in something older (like the '12 Ram) but lately when I've seen it it has not been that much cheaper.

Did you notice any increase or decrease in your gas mileage?
