Caliper in EvapoRust

Any harm in dipping a rusty caliper in EvapoRust overnight. With piston & seal removed?

None that I am aware of. The crowd that rebuilds Corvette C2, and C3 4 piston calipers does this regularly with similar de-rust chemicals.

I would recommend against it. Why not take the caliper apart, dip it in the stuff, cleaning and rebuild it with new seals?

OP said the caliper was disassembled already.....so I am assuming piston and seals have been removed.

No harm whatsoever. Are you going to paint or lay down a protective clear coat before reassembly?

I would wire brush or wire wheel it first to remove the big chunks, after that dip it in, there will be no issues.
