I have enjoyed coresponding with people in this section who are very passionate about other oil additives as well as people who are passionate about Auto-Rx.

I have come to the realization that 99% of the questions posted on here about Auto-Rx can be answered by:

1) Reading old posts in the oil additive section here
2) Visiting auto-rx.com
3) Looking at the auto-rx techboard
4) Going to the auto-rx link at the top of the oil additive section

I think we might have a little more peace in this section if when someone asks a question like ( Will Auto-Rx Stop my rear main seal leak) we can come back with a response like, have you visited auto-rx.com

It just seems that people want to ask questions that have already been answered. I can also understand that people who want to talk about or learn about other oil additives are tired of seeing Auto-Rx posts.

My thoughts are if a question cannot be answered on auto-rx then by all means post the question on BITOG.

I have not looked at my old posts but I would bet over 90% of them have been where I have answered questions about Auto-Rx, so I will try my best to respond to any auto-rx questions by saying visit auto-rx.com

If anyone has any thoughts on how we can make this section more civil and friendly please let us know what we can do.

Well said. Been using/importing it for many years. The trouble is BITOG is a large growing board and new members come with their old perceptions. I have no idea how to fix this.

sprintman i have requested a separate category for internal engine cleaners several time. Auto-Rx doe not add zince subtract some other additive or make change to the property of a manufactures oil.
It deep cleans metal making that metal completely receptive to the lubricity qualities of any oil.

No other product does that as safe and well as Auto-Rx. We don,t want to be in posts where somebody is using transmission fluid or
latest "scam" product. Or when someself appointed lubrication engineer (self is the operative word) wants to promote his thoughts on the state of oil lubrication. A little investigation shows these type posters never invented anything and some our outright "trolls['I pay for Auto-Rx to be advertised on this board and hope for the new year we get our own category. One other thing If someone is having a problem with Auto-Rx and communicates this to me and we can,t help there money is refunded

If you are referencing my post on "will ARX stop my rear main seal leal" then I will address you --

I am very aware of the ARX board, am a member there, and do reference it when the need arises. Yes, I read the "rotating seal leak" info there.

I have used ARX many times in the past, but for cleaning purposes - as my post said.

My question was asking for ARX user's PERSONAL EXPERIENCES on my specific problem. Is this not a board for discussions?

Nothing more - nothing less. Just a simple question. I don't really see it as that big of a deal. Just wanted to clear that up.

The search feature on this site would have helped you without the need for starting a new topic. This is a board for discussion, but this discussion has already taken place many times.

I was not refering to your post, this thought has been in the back of my mind for some time, the reason I stated in your thread to visit the Auto-Rx board is that I am trying to keep my comments in the oil additive section neutral.

I am only trying to gain knowledge here and when I have responded to an Auto-Rx question on here in the past I have been called an Auto-Rx Robot and an Auto-Rx CHEERLEADER. I was only trying to help you out and I did not realize that you have already visited auto-rx.com

The only way I can respond to a question about Auto-Rx is by reffering them to the auto-rx site or if they PM me. I feel this route will not offend anyone and I am on good terms with other members in the oil additive section who are passionate about other products besides Auto-Rx. It is better for me to gain there knowledge and not controversey, and at the end of the day everyone is happy.

Market 25 I believe what c3po is trying to convey is stopping a seal leak with Auto-Rx is stated in the application (and it is that application only that we want you to use for success) if you want to use someone else's idea of how to make Auto-Rx stop a seal leak do so at your own risk.

greenaccord02 is correct Auto-Rx Applications have been posted on bitog way to much and since there here why post again ?

For 09 Something else is going to be done so information can stop being repetitive.

Frank, we may view BITOG as more impartial than a site owned by the product vendor itself, thus some people prefer asking questions here.

May I suggest that if auto-rx gurus find questions repetitive then either ignore them or paste ready-made responses and links that you have in your knowledge base.

I am in agreement with your post. I will be divesting myself of any decisions, direction or management of the current Auto-Rx board.

This will be done in January. My goal is that anyone can post there question regarding Auto-Rx and get a knowledgeable answer and feel comfortable on a forum exclusively regarding issues that effect a customers success in using the product.

Repeated questions and repeated answers is the nature of any web forum. I've been reading bitog since 2003. People come, people go. That's just the nature of the beast. Separating oil additives out by function may be a good idea but I'd hate to see it get to the point where new members don't really know where to ask a question. It'd be nice to have a forum entitled "engine cleaning additives" but what would you call everything else? Then, of course, there is the fact that arx does have general oil performance enhancing properties beyond cleaning... Would this lead to members yelling at each other over which oil additive forum to post about arx in?

At the very least, the separation out from fuel additives was a good move, perhaps this might also be similarly beneficial?
