Burgman and/or other scooters

I'm certain that a small engine like that wouldn't be excessively intrusive. It's not setting off any car alarms is it?

No, nothing like that. To me it's music to the ears. Some people think an HD with open shotguns is music to the ears. I can't stand the ear splitting stacatto bark of an open pipe HD.
You can hear my scooter on youtube.

Well, my 2010 Honda SH150i is gone. Not stolen, not trashed, but traded in. I am now the very happy owner of a new 2009 Honda Silverwing 600. To keep on topic, the first oil change at 500km will be Rotella T6 5W-40 (what else is new?) and a Wix filter. The honda filters are overpriced and the construction looks subpar compared to the Wix.

Not a 600 or even a 150 by any means, but my little Metropolitan gets a steady diet of Rotella T6 - no filter to worry about though. Seems to be doing fine on it.

Congrats on the new ride!

I recall back in the '80s, Honda had a Silverwing then too. It was a liquid cooled transverse V twin known as the CX-500 Silverwing. Not a particularly wonderful bike. Unusual engine layout for a Japanese bike and typically Honda well built/reliable. Nothing special though. I'm certain the new Silverwing scooter would outperform the old one every which way.

Yea, I remember them. I believe they used pushrods for valve actuation. Honda, and pushrods? Who woulda thought? The SWing flat out flies compared to the 150, but that's to be expected. I already ordered the service manual from Helm. Next will be a GIVI top box with LED lights. I'll report after the first oil change.

Does that mean a UOA is coming?

LEO=Law Enforcement Officer...

I own a 1985 Suzuki Shuttle with a 50cc two stroke engine. It's cool to ride around the yard but wide open, maybe 35 to 40 mph on the road? One would get run over around here!

Well, I must say that some fore-thought and cuation is required. I do plan most of my trips ahead of time and we are blessed with many back/side roads around here. Plus, in this economy, there are more and more 49cc scooters on the roads here. I think that the drivers (in this area) are actually starting to get used to seeing these things on the roads.

Hi,
outoforder - I purchased a new Burgman Executive 650 (K8) about two years ago. It is a great machine.

My sons race a Gixxer but the Burgman has truely amazed them too. My longest ride has been 750 miles. It is comfortable and handles superbly. My top speed has been 170kmh (105mph)- it cruises so well at 120kmh (75mph)

I looked at a LOT of scooters before I passed my money over. Now, after two years of enjoyment I know I made the correct choice

I wish your Dad well!

Absolutely not. Sorry to all the guys with OCD, but that to me is a waste of money.
