Bulk valvoline syn vs napa syn bay box.

Looking for a new oil to run in everything.
Had run penz up untill now. But the shop i get stuff from became napa affiliated so now they have bulk valvoline.
They wernt really able to tell me which specific line of Valvoline it is. Im assuming “advanced full syn”. Which im able to get filled into my bottles at 3.56 a quart.
Or he offered me napa’s bay box which is 6 gallons for $89.95, or $3.74.

Both meet dexos gen 3 and chrysler ms6395 which is what 2 of our vehicles call for.
Initial thought is the valvoline is cheaper so run it. But after lake speeds video showing napa’s brand beating both royal purple and ams oe. And the fact i have it in our van now and its about 500 miles till due and still looks clean and new on the stick. Im wondering if its a better oil.

You may find some information here. They are both Group III based, typical synthetics.

I’m sure that this question has been posted before so I’ll ask forgiveness first...
I did a quick search and after three pages of threads didn’t find the answer.

Has there been an actual lab result showing that Valvoline and NAPA oils are exactly the same?

I’m in my 60s and recall our NAPA sales rep 20 years ago stating that there was no difference so we bought several skids fo NAPA oil for the Fleet. It was a darker oil and smelled different. Not the scientific test to prove or disprove but there was the before mentioned diffences.

Could save a few bucks if it’s truly the same...

Which Valvoline product is the Napa house brand. Just wanted to do a cost comparison before I stock up. IIRC the Napa full synthetic is on sale for 17 bucks a jug.

Went by Napa today. Valvoline 0w-20 is MS-6395 Chrysler approved oil. But Napa 0w-20 is not!
So is there has to be a difference in the two oils or Napa has not done the two year trail or paid

NAPA has their Full Synthetic on sale in our area for $15.50 for 5qt jug. I've used Mobil 1 for 20 years, buying the 5qt jug from Walmart for ~$25. NAPA is bottled by Valvoline. Anyone use NAPA or Valvoline? Its a big price savings.

Thread 'Napa full synthetic'

I'm trying to find more information on the Napa full synthetic oils. I was told by the local Napa it is made by Valvoline. Is this oil the same as Valvoline or made by Valvoline to Napa's specs? And, is it good oil? I've also been told the Napa oil is not good enough for turbos (Ford 3.5L Ecoboost Transit van in my case). Can't elaborate on that other than it breaks down quicker due to the higher temps. With that, I don't run this motor hard. Mainly highway use and I pretty much baby it and drive conservatively. Oil changes every 5000 miles. Is there better oil I should be using? Thanks...

Lake Speed Jr tests & compares four, synthetic 5w30 engine oils.

Super Tech Full Synthetic
Amsoil OE
NAPA Full Synthetic
Royal Purple Premium

He spends 8hrs on the dyno testing these oils while testing out a piston ring coating. It's really nice to see some comparable test numbers on these four oils (same test / tester, same engine, same procedure).
I'd like to chart out the results here but I'm out of time right now.
