For the amount of money they cost, those things don't know how to swim???

Seriously though, this car will be considered a flood and will be totalled. Of course it won't stop someone from rebuilding the title. The electrical gremlins will plague it forever.

Not a chance. That car will be repaired no problem. Dried out new interior. All fluids changed out and completely steam cleaned. Then the electrical gremlins will plague the next owner. Assuming there is no serious dents that car can be repaired for under $25k which is a long way from a total.

I saw the video, then when I went to re-view the video, it had been deleted. In just one day it had 240 comments, probably 90% of which said something along the lines of what a moron the driver was.

But what a sad sight seeing that beautiful car in the water.

I don't think they should total it. Considering its value, couldn't they immerse it in 1000 gallons of 30% alcohol solution then air dry it? Kinda like what you do if you drop your cell in the toilet.

The local article contained this fine line -

The Veyron’s powerful engine gurgled like an outboard motor for about 15 minutes before it died.

I'm guessing that as a $1-2 million vehicle it will be shipped back to Italy and rebuilt at the factory.

The Veyron is from France, not Italy. It is even named after a French racing driver, Pierre Veyron.
