Fat Tire is my favorite, but Bud Light is what's in my refrigerator right now. Dangit, it's after 1:00 in the morning and I'm not drinking. What the He-- is wrong with me! Becoming a lightweight in my old age.

I think I'd have to go out to my garage, grab a few of the Natty Lights that are sitting out there, and shotgun 3-4 of them just to be in a frame of mind to be in the same room as at least one of you. Good grief.

Bud did such an awful job that their commercial just triggered a whole lot of responses. Plus, I don't think I was their target.

The Elysian brewing team likely made a boatload of money and may have already stepped down or been given pink slips as part of that transaction.

As I said before, AB InBev didn't buy it to drink this stuff. They bought it so that they can turn it into another macro beer Budweiser-like concoction with a catchy name.

I may have to stop by Wegmans in DeWitt NY - that's the only one around here that I know of that has the craft selection - and pick some up.

I live in a town with one of the largest engineering schools in the country. The hipster's are out in full force here and while I could potentially end up employed by a company one of these kids runs some day they still are not the crowd I want to sit down and talk guns, football and hunting with.

You have no reason to defend your choices to me. You're free to do whatever you want but the way you try to belittle people who don't agree with you should be an example of why I wouldn't want to be drinking in a place filled with your type. I can't afford to keep a lawyer on retainer at all times like I once had to.
Wow. That was a threat?

I'm done arguing. Here are the facts:

1. People are brainwashed by marketing. Not just regarding beer.
2. You couldn't dream of hurting my feelings.
3. You clearly have a hipster/hippie phobia.
4. You have a problem with stereotyping.
5. You came into this topic trying to pick a fight.

Enjoy your rice!

Engineers are hipsters??

Engineering students, in my observations, are the complete opposite of hipsters.

They have beards because they don't have time to shave. They wear flannel because its who they are as a person, not because they want to be cool. They don't wear the funny colored jeans, though.

Engineering students, as well as practicing engineers wore flannel before it was cool. It works.

I'm more of a sweater guy myself, but that's because I don't care for buttons. Just put on a dry fit shirt and then a sweater. No buttons.

LLBean jeans. I bicycle too much to even contemplate skinny jeans.

C'mon man...would you listen to a Mercedes driver saying the "Fords are for less sophisticated drivers"? "Pickups are for those too plebeian and and unsophisticated to know what they're buying"??

FWIW, I like Bud.

But I was in Ireland this past week (Dublin) and enjoyed a few (OK, more than a few) pints of Guinness, along with a few Smithwicks. I was in Munich the week before, and the beer at the Hofbräuhaus was good too.

We're talking about beer here, fellas....and its a matter of TASTE...so, there is no right or wrong...no better...no worse...

And the genuine aficionado understands that you match the beer to the occasion. No one beer is "better"...
It may be snobbery, but that doesn't make it untrue. The MB guy would be right about my Ford. Heck the owners of higher series of F150 would be too. I bought my XLT because it did what I needed it to do with minimal complexity and cost. Not because it was the picture of comfort and capability.

People don't drink Bud/etc because of the taste. They drink it precisely because it doesn't taste like much. You can drink a case without getting tired of it or getting full.

Anyway I really wouldn't care about what anyone drinks. It's the business practices. InBev is actively trying to get LAWS changed to make it harder for small businesses to start up and operate profitably. Foreign companies paying off politicians to work against the American people. You can buy and defend that swill if you want. I'm not. It's cheap garbage put out by a [censored] company for the lowest common denominator. Same target McDonald's is going for.

Why?

Amazon.com ?

They only sell it along the east coast. I really missed it when I moved out west, but then I discovered Sam Adams, now even when I am on the east coast I still drink Sam

Yuengling began serving New England this spring. Prior to that their distribution chain stopped in New York. They purchased a brewery in Florida about 10 years ago. They are family owned and run. Too big to be called "craft" but not MegabeerCo either.

Remember when you were done arguing? Let it go man, let it go!

On my way back from the range today, I am going to pick up some beer...I was going to get some Dogfish Head 60 minute IPA, or perhaps a Norfolk Canyon, from the local brewery like I often do...

But since I'll be shooting the M1 Garand, I am feeling particularly American...and I feel myself thirsting for some Golden Suds...

I'll be getting some Budweiser!

A whole case of it!

And looking down on all the effete beer snobs...they can have their hipster pumpkin peach ale...they can dissect their beer...they can feel superior...I don't care...

I will be enjoying the look, the taste, the experience of long neck Budweiser beer bottles, macro brewed, beechwood aged, brewed the hard way, on my workbench next to the "greatest battle implement ever devised"...enjoying the mix of aromas, of hops mixing with Hoppe's...

Can it get any better?

I submit that it cannot!

I find it hard to believe they are all the same. They're college kids, SOME of them will jump on any trend. What would you say the advantage of the skinny jeans is then? Wearing their sister's hand me downs maybe?

Flannel is who they are? Maybe if they're the offspring of Al Borlan or the Brawny paper towel man. My guess is they just pick out a shirt they like that fits them. The same way I do. Maybe it has nothing to do with the current trend. That being said would you go to a line dancing bar wearing cowboy boots and wrangler pro rodeo jeans and not expect people consider you a cowboy or wannabe cowboy?

Admittedly I just really wanted to use the sister's jeans and spawn of Al Borlan jokes. You gave me a perfect excuse to do so.
