Love it or hate it, the brewery tour is a good time. Here in St Louis, you tour the stables as well as the brewery and get two beers (not just Bud) at the end of the tour.

AB is one of my customer and their commitment to excellence is evident when I've worked in their data center.

Before ABinBev, AB was a good corporate citizen in St. Louis. One can see that while St. Louis is important to their operations, it's not the HQ it once was in our area.

Have you ever been to Cask Republic in New Haven or Two Roads in Stratford? Two Roads has a hard on for hoppy beers but their saison's are rather good. Their factory is also very cool to just see.

But sometimes after a long day of work especially if its hot out, nothing tastes better than an ice cold Bud Light or Landshark on the back of the boat. Simple, cheap, good!

I read that one of the reasons for the Prohibition Amendment was to put the kabosh on Adolf Busch, who was the weathiest American at the time.

I don't usually drink Bud, but it is clear and has a pure flavor, a testament to their quality control.

They did have a beer a few years back that I liked : American Pale Ale. A bit weaker than a typcial IPA, but tasted pretty good, and was available in grocery store (3.2% ) proof. For some reason they discontinued it and came out with that Shock Top.

I actually find I can dilute a good IPA with pure, cold water and I find it more drinkable, with similar alcohol to Bud but much better flavor.

I have only visited two breweries. Ever. Rarely do I go to bars. But I never drink tasteless beer. Your defense is price, fine. Mine is too. $12 for 12 good brews. I enjoy around a similar "bonfire" and still party with friends while still not paying $6 a glass at a bar. I consider the extra cost weaponry for independent breweries. Weapons to slay AB-Inbev.

As for my feelings, they are only hurt by our country's distribution laws (funded in large part by AB). When the brews I enjoy are required to rely on either AB or Miller/Coors to make it to ANY bar or store, that is a problem to me. And guess what? AB gives the middle finger to EVERYONE. Only AB branded/affiliated beer rides on their trucks. How is this fair?

Take groceries for example. Let's say AB was one of two suppliers of ALL groceries. But they ONLY distribute rice. They claim anyone who eats anything but rice 24/7 is a snob. And their sole purpose is to destroy every type of food except rice. You eat an apple. Snob. You eat a hot pocket. Snob. You eat a steak. Hippie!

Do you not see that you're the opposite side of the same coin? You get your feelings hurt by a commercial you feel is about you, so anyone who prefers mass produced beer is naive and brainwashed by marketing. Maybe they just have different taste.

I live in a town with one of the largest engineering schools in the country. The hipster's are out in full force here and while I could potentially end up employed by a company one of these kids runs some day they still are not the crowd I want to sit down and talk guns, football and hunting with.

You have no reason to defend your choices to me. You're free to do whatever you want but the way you try to belittle people who don't agree with you should be an example of why I wouldn't want to be drinking in a place filled with your type. I can't afford to keep a lawyer on retainer at all times like I once had to.

I see it all the time in stores but I never buy it for some reason. Middle Ages brewery is right in the city and they have some good products. Syracuse Pale Ale is great!

It's strong! If you want to try them, Wegmans has the best prices. I like all of Ommegang's brews, so I usually get a few of each.

We had some of this sent to us as a gift from a vendor - its 10% ABV ... I did enjoy it!

Both, but it's delicious. A 750ml bottle after dinner will hit you pretty hard. Abbey Ale, Rare Vos, Hennepin... I like all of their varieties.

IMO,99% of the craft beers I've tried were terrible. There are a handful that I can suffer all the way through. Most just don't do it for me.

My buddies that like craft beer don't push them on me,and I don't push what I like on them.

We get together,drink what we like and have a good time.

But I was in Ireland this past week (Dublin) and enjoyed a few (OK, more than a few) pints of Guinness, along with a few Smithwicks. I was in Munich the week before, and the beer at the Hofbräuhaus was good too.

We're talking about beer here, fellas....and its a matter of TASTE...so, there is no right or wrong...no better...no worse...

And the genuine aficionado understands that you match the beer to the occasion. No one beer is "better"...

They didn't even sell it in Massachusetts until last year.

Note that the largest US-owned beer company is now Boston Beer Company.

Guiness Draught.. The one beer the GF will drink with me with the exception of Framboise. I could fall over backwards in a vat of the stuff and take a bath in it.
