Outdoor Rh: 58%
Solar Intensity: 947 W/sqr. meter
Solar Heat Index: 140°F

Concrete driveway: 127°F
Black asphalt: 152°F

Indoor temp: 80°F
Indoor Rh: 40%
Ceiling Fans: ON

Those are really incredible numbers. People here complain about our maximums of 100F and 90% humidity.

20 years ago when I was just starting out in life, and moved here to Colorado the first time, I learned pretty quickly that it was more enjoyable to ride my motorcycle up into the mountains (I lived in Boulder at the time), with a couple books, and read them during the hot part of the day next to a mountain lake.

Temperature might have been pushing 100 in Boulder, but it was typically 15 degrees or more cooler up in the mountains.

I can still do that today, but then the wife would yell at me for not taking her with me.

This week is supposed to be high 80s/low 90s. That's unheard of for this time of year, at least since I've been living here. Week before that, it got up to 114, although with a bit of wind and no humidity it wasn't *that* bad. Last year we had several days of 110+.

That is the price of marry. You can have hot dinner at home after work, instead of take out, but you lot your freedom, you have to take her with you wherever and whenever you go.

From 1978 to 1987, my work truck did not have A/C. And I worked delivering packages, not always small ones, right through the heat and humidity. It's small wonder today I don't like the heat.

Elevation sure makes a difference, so does your remote location from the warm Gulf.

West Tx is more desert like, very dry at elevation, and quickly cools in the evening. Much more pleasant than where I am this time of year.

A little Honda/Yamaha generator and a small window units does wonders when the power goes out.

It's not hot here... It's not even luke warm for summer at 70°F... we should be getting at least 10°F more than what we actually get.

But it's still unbearable outside.

We broke every rainfall record in the six first months of the year. We got about 26" of rain so far. Every square inch of land is waterlogged. I really should look for my RH gauge, I bet it's through the roof. This afternoon the temp accidentally went up 2 degrees more and I couldn't move a muscle without breaking a sweat.

We supposed to have some rain last raining season because of the "Enormous El-Nino" but it didn't come down to Southern California. So we have 5 consecutive drought years. Everything in So Cal is so dry now, and we will not have any rain until November or December.

I don't think any crops will be worth harvesting this season. all are drowned/rotten. So now is the time to come get your water!
 
It's been hot and humid all week here. My lungs just don't work when it's like that. Been suffering trying to work on my camper and on the Jeep.

Will be nice when I don't have to gasp for air all the time.

We have a pretty good drought going on here in NY

Drought ? How much rain did you have in the last 12 months ? Less than 4-5" total ?

The last 5-6 years we had less than 4-5" a year in So Cal. This is "THE DROUGHT" we are talking about. The last year we had decent rainfall was around 2004-2006 at around 10-15" a year.
