Sorry but that's 9948°F.
Wrong.

Since you waded-in off topic, in a cheeky-way & just left that slow ball hanging right in front of me, here it comes right back at you:

The temp ON the Sun's surface may be ~ 10,000°F, but I didn't use ON above, I used IN. Therefore, the INternal temp of the Sun's core is a few million °F, as the core is where nuclear fusion (not fission) occurs.

I could look up the exact number, but....

I got your Goog...go Goog this! Ha!

Some of us HAVE studied both solar & astro-physics.....(better put some ice on that line drive that just hit you....)

I just HAD to do it.....

KCHK!! It's out of the park! Ya got me.

In my short search I got the surface temp only. I wish I'd gotten more education in those areas...

EXPLETIVE HOT!

I remember being in Rogers City,MI in August and it was in the upper 50s. Left Dallas and it was 108,get to MI and it's like 58,brrrr!!

I was just thinking a couple weeks ago when it was hot I actually like to plow snow more than cut the grass... Well its the trimming I find the most annoying, and it was only 80F with a bit of humidity!
Floating around the pond is better in the summer than the winter, but I can't stay in there all day... There's stuff to do.
The California one season seems appealing, but maybe boring? The kids love the swings of weather though.

The view is much better in the hot weather too...the ladies wear much fewer clothes!

I know. I'm surrounded by 'em. They stand wearing T-shirts and thin pants, blubbering, "It's COLD," and I murmur, "There's this new technology. It's in all the stores now. People call them coats and jackets."

As Grampi pointed out, however, the ladies do wear less in the warm weather, which is nice when said ladies are attractive and healthy. However, a great chunk (and I use that word carefully) of our U.S. population is too big to wobble around wearing revealing clothing, and should never be sold shorts or halter tops.

As far as the temp of the Sun itself: I remember reading in Niven & Pournelle's Lucifer's Hammer years ago that a human being pumps out more heat per square inch of his body surface than does a square inch of the Sun. (However, there are a great many square inches of Sun --)

We have 2 seasons:

Dry season: no chance of rain from May till November.

Not so dry season: 1% chance of drizzle for 1 day a week from November till May.

...POTENTIAL DANGEROUS RECORD BREAKING HEAT ACROSS SOUTHWESTERN
CALIFORNIA SUNDAY THROUGH TUESDAY...

FROM SUNDAY THROUGH TUESDAY...HIGH TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED TO
SOAR TO BETWEEN 100 AND 112 DEGREES ACROSS THE VALLEYS...LOWER
MOUNTAIN ELEVATIONS...AND ANTELOPE VALLEY...WITH WARMEST VALLEY
LOCATIONS POSSIBLY REACHING 115 DEGREES ON MONDAY. INLAND
PORTIONS OF THE COASTAL PLAIN AND THE SANTA BARBARA SOUTH COAST
COULD ALSO SEE SIGNIFICANT HEAT IMPACTS AS TEMPERATURES CLIMB WELL
INTO THE 90S TO AROUND 100 DEGREES. THE PROJECTED HIGH TEMPERATURE
FOR DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES IS 100 DEGREES FOR MONDAY. THIS KIND OF
HEAT IS UNUSUAL FOR COASTAL COMMUNITIES IN JUNE, WITH HEAT IMPACTS
HEIGHTENED DUE TO THE LACK OF AIR CONDITIONING FOR MANY COASTAL
RESIDENTS.

ours is coming! Yet another record warm year...?

Relative Humidity means nothing to me.

What's the Dewpoint? (That's a better measure of comfort, or lack thereof, when it comes to humidity levels.)

UPDATE:

Using an IR thermometer, I decided to take a few readings of my limestone, concrete and black asphalt road, in both sun & shade.

Time: 2:15pm
Outdoor ambient temp: 95°F
Outdoor Rh: 57%
Windspeed: 0 MPH
Solar Intensity: 896 W/sqr-meter.
Standard Heat Index: 110°F
THSW Heat Index: 128°F (Temp/Rh/Solar/Wind)

Limestone walkway in shade: 82° F. In sun: 105°
Deep green St. Augstine grass in shade: 82°, in sun 105°
Empty concrete birdbath in sun: 120°
Recently cleaned concrete driveway in shade: 88°. In sun: 122°
Weathered pine 4x4 in sun: 144°
Black asphalt roadway in shade: 110°. In sun: 145°

My hand-test-on-hot-black-asphalt lasted about one second!

I remember the news bought one of those thermometers last year and they showed the sidewalk here in Phoenix was like 175-180 degrees.

I did that a few years ago on a steel man-hole cover in the street. Didn't cook as fast as I thought it would, but it definitely cooked.

If I have time this weekend I might bake cookies in my car. Supposed to be 120 or so.

I don't know how people can work outdoors in that type of weather. People like construction workers, street maintenance workers, and especially roofers(!!). There's no shade at all, and the temps where they work are 10-15F higher than ambient temp.
