Briggs & Stratton Tire Sealant. Just heard of it. Is it any good for riding lawnmower tire or just something that will foul things up like Slime does?

Preferred method of fixing those flats?

I just added a can of fix a flat to a front ZTM tire. If it gives me any trouble, I’m swapping to airless/solid front tires.

On my mowers I just buy an inner tube. That way even if I hit something with a tire it doesn't go flat.

I bought aeropak tire sealant last time. It's really thick. They all seam to work good as long as you put a lot in the tire.

I would never again use a tire sealant especially on a tubeless tire. It will eventually ruin the rim because of the heavy corrosion it creates. If it's a puncture on a tubeless tire, I would plug it instead. I have even plugged sidewalls and the tires are still leak free.

Slime is one of the worst.

Explain why Slime is the worst? I have used Slime in tractor, truck, cars and mowers tires over the years, and if it could be plugged, this did it every time. Lady at work pulled a nail out of her tire, put in a quart size of Slime added air then drove the car for 6 months until she got 4 new tires

That is the difference between a good tire sealant and a poor one. We used a product called “Tireseal” made by Texas Refinery Corp. on dozens of tires on our farm and it didn’t corrode anything. I recently broke down a tire that had Tireseal in it for nearly 20 years and the wheel looked new.

Does this new product by Briggs work the same way? Time will tell.

I'd try the LiquidTube sealant before using Slime, Briggs and Stratton or Fix-A-Flat.

When I have had to eventually replace the tires. When removed, the insides of the rims were extremely rusted. Flakes of rust. It may seal a leak but will eventually destroy the wheel. Slime is highly corrosive. When put into a passenger car tire, it will cause an imbalance condition. Some tire dealers won't touch a wheel if they know slime is inside..

I have opted for plugging the leak for now. I got Slime Delux Tire Plug Kit from Walmart today. Came with their "plug Bond". It is a white substance that is like a thick elmers glue. Use that or rubber cement that came with a tire patch kit?

Will try "Tireseal" or "LiquiTube" later if I hear more feedback.

Will either seal new punctures? I will probably get more as I am now mowing uncharted territory.

Slime has never caused any problems with steel or aluminum rims when I have used it in my equipment. Slime simply works if the hole is not on the side wall or too big. Buy it and use it if you need to read about Slime
