Briggs and Tecumseh engines in the winter......

OK, have a 20 year old Tecumseh and a 12 year old (but
Both are to be used for snowblowing. The Briggs is on a tractor that will also be used during the warm weather for cutting the lawn.

What oil should I use in them? For the winter Id prefer the same (so I can pick up a large jug and be done with it). I was thinking maybe Rotella 5W-40 (we dont get below 0 very often, but high single digits to mid 30's are our normal winter temps). Would that fit the bill for both engines? if not, any suggestions would be appreciated.

Forgot to mention (no edit function):

Ive been using Supertech 10w30 synthetic in both of these engines, including during warm weather (cutting the grass).

The oil you are using will do a fine job. I would stick with it.

The Rotella T Synthetic 5w40 is an great choice,,that's what i'm using
in my 25+ year old TORO snow blower.

ChrisJH, truth is you could run these machines for 10-20+ years and never see a difference between these two Grp III 'synthetic' oils.

My preference is for the better additive package in the 5W-40 HDEO. Excellent protection and will probably keep the engines a bit cleaner than the Supertech.
