Braun 8985 electric shaver - Battery Change - From 2000 year.

I have owned this shaver since new, and effective this morning, the OEM sanyo batteries lasted from 2000 up to today. They were Ni-MH. No leakage, and I am staggered these could last this long. I replaced with Kastar brand so if I get 5 yrs id be happy.
Like everything these days if only we could continue to get quality products like those original batteries you would get another 25 years out of that shaver. Pisses me off that consumers drove the idea that cheaper is more desirable over quality.

I forgot to mention, I also replaced a late 90's 7505 model batteries and neither shaver had any battery leakage. Moving forward these will be proactivly down every 5 as im sure the newer ones will leak easier.

I have one from 05, haven't used it since I upgraded to a Series 7 in 2015.

I am surprised you can still get replacement heads for it.
