Are you sure? I would expect the opposite to be true.
"Cable tie resin is “natural” colored until a colorant, typically carbon black, is introduced into the manufacturing process. Carbon black is a major contributor to UV resistance of ties, and their longevity in the sun is dependent on the amount of carbon black used."

There are also zip ties that have UV resistant chemicals added and the vast majority of them are black for the added protection of the pigment.
 
If it was on the trailing edge, I wonder if it'd work ok, actually. On the leading edge, I could see it swiveling out (and violently!) but here...

To be clear, I would have used at least 2 more zip ties. Can't be too safe.

Use the special blue ones, they’re the “high temp-a-cheer”!
