yes it is, but the same would apply to any disc brake caliper with hand brake mechanism.

The resistance from the rubber seal boot on the piston (with the typical no lube manufacturing) is also a major cause of brakes not retracting enough

Brake fluid doesn't lubricate that piston seal?
 
The piston seal yes but not the boot, that's dry rubber. lubrication is very limited from brake fluid anyway, being of very low viscosity
I always lift the boot a little when doing brakes to make sure the piston looks good and there is no rust. It has always been a bit wet with brake fluid.
So the boot doesn’t just ride on the dry cylinder.

If it's wet with brake fluid it's leaking, I changed calipers under warranty for that
