Brake Hose Brands

As far as I can tell, they are all made in China, so brand really doesn't matter much to me.
You might want to try Goodridge stainless steel wrapped hoses. I have had them on the SE-R since it was used often in competition. Helps keep a firm pedal (Expands less) and protects more from road debris. They've been on there for 16 years (dang) and I've not had cause to worry over them. I looked on Amazon and they're still made. Only drawback is they are about $30 apiece but for brake system probably worth the money.
Most of them are made by Sunsong in China anyway, except the Goodridge hoses mentioned by DeepFriar.

The NAPA hoses I used on my wife's Corolla last year were made by Sunsong. This was after returning the Raybestos hoses I bought from Amazon which turned out to be exactly the same things. The quality seems to be there. I had no good reason not to use them besides 'CHINA' being printed on the rubber.

They have proven to be durable over a long period. They're just regular brake line material (neoprene?) overlaid with SS mesh.
No, they use a Teflon liner not a regular brake hose. SS hoses are fine for daily use if they are plastic covered, if not sand and dirt can eventually get in the SS braid and wear the liner inside. Some of the Goodridge hoses are not covered, check before buying.

Thanks Trav, you're right. Also, if your area uses a lot of salt the bare ones will dereriorate more quickly, SS or not. I didn't put these on until I had left NJ. That area started the rust on the Nissan that I have fought ever since it seems. It also caused the accelerated loss of two exhaust flex pipes, both of which were SS. But back then I was "flexing" it a lot to the detriment of many things including repeated motor mounts.
Oh those flex pipes, I hate them PITA with a passion. I use the ones from Vibrant when I need to change one.

Those look great and the price is good too. As if I needed to prove I'm dumber than a box of rocks the first time I had it "fixed" at the dealer. I came to pick it up and they had replaced the whole SS double downpipe with the integral flex on the end, $250 part plus labor! There was a lot of drama, hate and discontent that day.

Check and see if StopTech makes a set of SS lines for your Saabs. They have a clear PVC coating to protect the lines for dirt. I just installed a set on my Mazda3 a few months ago. Great quality and comes with the needed hardware. They are around $100 - $120 a set.
