Anybody know if i can use my Motul 5.1 Synthetic in my dot 3 Nissan?

It states on label that it is far superior to lower dot levels.

I am not familiar with brake fluid. Just about everything else.

Thanks.

I have 4L from my Audi swap that i do not want go to waste, just thought i would get lucky. Motul is a great brand.

I use it for pretty much everything.

Motul 5.1 Brake Fluid is the latest generation of dot-approved brake fluid. It surpasses dot 3 and dot 4 standards. Motul 5.1 is a non-silicone fully synthetic formula specially deisgned for non-ABS and ABS braking systems. Its low viscosity formula makes it easy for the fluid to travel into the tiny passages and micro-valves of an ABS system, even at low temperatures! This brake fluid is fully compatible with DOT 3 and DOT 4 fluids.

**Do not mix with dot 5 compatible with dot 3, dot 4, and dot 5.1**

Bottom line, YES.

And when I google DOT 5.1 brake fluid, the number one source........

Yes the label does sort of explain it, but like i said i am a new guy when it comes to brake fluid.

It surpasses the 3 and 4, meaning to me that it is ok.

Thanks for the input.

Me too. No probs, went to Motul's website and was suprised to see it was not silicone based.

Compatability! Reminds me of when I once put Shell Dot 4 fluid in a Japanese sport bike and it caused the seals to swell in the master cyclinder. The lever went real jumpy from stiction. Stripped the entire braking system, cleaned it with alcohol, rebuilt it with BP Dot 4 and no more problems, smooth as silk again.
