I'm planning on using a vacuum hand pump to do a brake fluid exchange on my 2015 Accord. Like most modern cars it has ABS. Do I need to do anything special with the ABS pump to do this successfully? I'm more interested in keeping the system air-free rather then getting every last drop of old DOT 3 out.

Here's what would be most cost effective;

1. dump gas, clean out fuel tank
2. change trans fluid
3. ditto brake fluid
4. ditto differential fluid
4. new battery
5. new tires
6. LS1 swap

Nope, nothing special. You're on the right track. Extract what you can from the reservoir with the hand pump, then refill with new fluid. Then if you bleed each caliper, you'd be in really good shape.

Did I miss some deleted posts? What do those have to do with changing the brake fluid.

It's been 20 years since using the hand pump for that job but still remember how sore my hands got. It does work but is tedious compared to the canister pumps.

Different sequence than usual for Honda/Acura vehicles;

Clockwise from LF-RF-RR-LR. As others mentioned, no need to bother with ABS.
