Need to replace the brake booster on a 2000 Xterra.
Any recommendations for aftermarket Brake Boosters?
Is new or rebuilt better?
Thanks

Brake boosters aren't a common replacement item. Is aftermartket even available? I'd search for a low mileage used oem part.

New and rebuilt parts are readily available.

Odometers are not visible at wrecking yards. They haven’t been for years. Pretty hard to determine “ low mileage” on a 24 year old vehicle.
Pretty sure 2000 would still be a mechanical odometer, my 2003 Ford is. And with having owned over 800 cars now, I don't ever recall having to replace a brake booster. Correction. 1978 Peugeot I still have.

Boosters are usually very long lived unless they get brake fluid in them. Maybe check your non-return valve first.

That being said, brakes are something I typically recommend OE/OEM.

Of the rock auto offerings, the only one i would consider is centric, though really these things are pretty basic.

I think any 24 year old booster sitting in the Arizona heat would be worn out.
Not sure whether a new or rebuilt one would be the best choice.
I use Rock Auto a lot but they are getting crazy stupid with their shipping.
Would like to find something decent local or on Amazon at a reasonable price.
Looks like Oreilly sells Brake Best. ?
Thanks
