Brake bleeding sequence

Does someone know the brake bleeding sequence on a 2004 honda accord?? I would like to flush the brake sysytem...TIA
 
Absence of an answer generally in the US it is RR LR RF LF. But not always and sometimes need to be done multiple times. I no longer have my book.
 
No. Honda brake bleeding sequence is generally LF, RF, RR, LR. I've bled hundreds of various Honda cars with this sequence without a problem. That's the service manual recommended sequence.

+1 AcuraTech. This is the recommended bleeding sequence for Subaru's and many modern ABS vehicles. The sequence for older NON ABS vehicles was bleed the longest lines first i.e.RR,LR ETC.

Stupid question... cant you really bleed any car in any sequence, without a problem, provided the fluid is all clean???

If you have dirt in your MC, whichever sequence you go through will find the dirt traveling to one of the solenoids in the ABS pump. The key is to rid yourself of the dirt at the caliper end, and whatever may have migrated up.

My understanding of the job was always to remove all fluid at the MC, replace with clean, then flush.

SO im not saying that it does not matter, I am just asking, in theory, so long as your MC reservoir is clean, and youre pushing clean fluid, why it would really matter, so long as clean, fresh fluid comes from every caliper bleeder.

I agree that bleeding sequence is probably irrelevant. One of those admonitions that may have had some validity sometime in the past, but logic long since forgotten. I usually just do RR, LR, LF, RF in clockwise pattern.

On a side note, I've noticed that my 99 Subaru Forester brake fluid stays nice and clean (still clear amber color w/ 185K miles) while my other cars brake fluids are all dark until I replace, and shortly turns dark again. Perhaps Subaru has a better brake fluid? What could that be?

If the system has a diagonal brake setup such as Fords it is RR/LF, LR/RF but it really doesn't matter. I usually do the back first.

The ABS is not affected because the solenoids should be closed unless the ABS is on.
 
Hhhmmnn... My wife's Mitsu Lancer Service Manual had a strange LF, RF, RR, LR, RF, LF type of sequence.

I did it wrong the first time and when I did it right it made no improvement. Not that her brakes were bad to begin with...
 
I used to do bleeding in sequence but found no difference especially now that I vacuum bleed. Now I do the bleeding as I go along and do each wheel pad replacement. However, my pad replacement sequence is LR,RR, RF, LF....

I could never see the real reason for a bleeding sequence [although we always did the rears first].
You want to end up with fresh fluid with no air in the lines.

Yeah, thats a good point. I follow the Honda sequence, but it probably doesn't matter. I suck out as much of the master cylinder reservoir fluid as I can and then top it off with clean fluid before I flush. No sense pumping old dirty fluid through the system. Seems like the darkest colored fluid is always at the ends of the system, in the reservoir and calipers.
