Over the Holidays I looked in a number of stores for it. None had it yet in E/PA, but the places I enquired about HDS said "next week". Tomorrow I plan on hitting a few places again to look for it. At one AA I can get a few old 5w-20s at $1.55, if they are still there. (rolls eyes) Sorry about the delay on the VOA, I'm also trying to grab some 1y/o vintage formula to VOA for comparison.

I bought some "Deposit Shield" today on my way home from work. Had to go to a couple different stores to find some. The Tacoma is due for an oil change in 2 weeks and I am itching to use it! Price was $2.27 at AZ.

One thought... The bottle construction looks pretty cheap. The plastic (PTE or whatever) seems very thin and the mold seams look messy. I actually put them up front in the cab as I was afraid a hard slide across my truck bed might pop one open. At the store, the 10W-30 bottle in the front of the row was covered in oil from a leaky cap. I left that one on the shelf.

Can't wait for the VOA!

As far as the bottle/grade...in gasoline, Amoco 93 "Ultimate" is Silver and 89 Mids is Gold. I think the implication is that the Silver is cleaner (looking) than Gold. (shrugs)

At former job (I am, as always have been, in US), we were considering doing business with Sears Canada. We were told to print shipping labels in English and French due to the bilingual requirements. I assumed it was a Canadian federal law?

Yep. They are both official languages so just about everything needs to be labelled in both. More than 2% of us speak French, but outside of Quebec and maybe Ontario that's probably a generous estimate.

I believe Havoline will still be one of the best oils available on a cost/performance basis. That 8.0 cSt 5w-20 looks nice. Very nice...how much?

Actually you have the two flipped. The 89 is Silver and the 93 Ultimate is Gold. The standard 87 is blue.

Oh, right. That goes to the point that it's so confusing. Ok, there is the contradiction, the 93 "Gold" Ultimate ~should~ actually be silver because it's clear verses other grades that are naturally gold in colour, but are represented by silver (?) or blue...which does not even go at all.

Anyway, I found HDS at AA, but in every other grade than 5w-30 which I am trying to get for a VOA. If anyone thinks a 10w-30 or 5w-20 would be worth getting, speak up. Ya know, I'm just going to grab it, the 5w-20 since someone is sending Bruce a older Havoline 5w-20 to sample.

One further note, it seems odd that the sku has changed for the new oil. That's what I determined from the 10w-30. As a side, I wonder if this is one of the better 10w-40s. The 10w-40s that seem to excel on paper are the HM versions. Anyway, still looking for the 5w-30 for VOA and I'll grab the 5w-20 too.

The bottles I saw at the zoo seemed as well constructed as any other. No leaker in in a long line. Mold seems were good.
