"Tired of weed wacking larger area the rider cant get to. So I bought a 19" dual battery Greenworks for $229. Got 6 months free financing. Hope I bought a good one. Will see light use around trees and behind the A/C, and my neighbors stupid new fence. Sorry I went to the "buzzed" side.
Fingers crossed 🤞

We are 100% electric for outdoor power equipment.

20" mower, leaf blower, leaf vacuum, string trimmer, hedge trimmer, extended reach hedge trimmer. All Makita. One battery system.

Love it! Never a problem starting. No gas to buy or store. No maintenance.

Just pull the trigger and go - wonderful!

I have been satisfied with my Toro 60v.
self propelled mower, 600cfm blower, and 16" string trimmer.

The string trimmer is on sale at lowes currently for 112.50 with 2.5Ah 60v battery.

only thing that needed adjustment so far was the self propel cable.. it got loose and I had to figure out the adjustment and tighten.

Cost for all 3 tools with 3 batteries(2-2.5Ah 1-5Ah) was around $500

I wish the mower had a manual turbo button i only trim for about 10-15min.. and it will speed up if it detects heavier grass..
but a manual "turbo" button would be nice.

My Craftsman trimmer has a Hi lo switch. It works good.

I repaired a cobalt 40v mower for a customer. I lended them my clapped out 140cc loaner mower because the city yard nazi was on them to mow it. They really liked the power of my trash mower which due to dirt ingestion was lacking for a 140cc mower.
I sharpened the blade to knife sharp on that cobalt and they said it cut better than when it was new. When I tested it I found the mower to be extremely weak, down right pathetic with the dull blade.

anyone have any suggestions for what I should buy? We're buying our first house, and it's a small lot... .179 acres.. not even 1/5th acre.
we had a reel mower for a bit as a kid when we lived in town (.116 acre) , and, they've always appealed to me...
while I would prefer an electric, or manual ( reel type) mower, BUT...

just to get by, my brother has an OLD hand me down mower, that my buddy inherited with his house, that I should be able to get for free. ( they didn't charge my brother for it) any reason not to use this for the time being?

You’ll love it 4 going on 5 years battery mower and string trimmer. Haven’t heard a bad report from greenworks brand. If anything like the ryobi it just purrs along and steps up the revs on heavier patches of grass.

Funny true story my first few mows was listening to music with the AirPods going I think I went 2-3 minutes with a dead battery before I realized the mower was off. No issue had a 2nd battery with the onboard storage thankfully no neighbors were around to witness that.

I purchased the Milwaukee Fuel duel battery lawn mower this summer and it is really amazing. I got it on sale, full package with the batteries and duel side by side rapid charger. $1k total. It felt like a lot, especially when my last mower cost about $149 eight years ago. But I wanted something that will last a long time and Milwaukee battery tools haven’t let me down ever before. The battery range on this is pretty impressive, especially considering you can use the self propelled feature and still have a lot of range. I can do my lawn (front and back) twice on one charge using self propelled and have range to spare on the batteries. Obviously that would depend a bit on lawn size of course.

My only remaining gasoline-powered tool is a 3600psi Dewalt pressure washer. All else are the 40v Ryobi ecosystem.

We bought my wife's sister one of these when last in Canada. She was using a POS gas push mower which was all but falling apart. She's in her 60s, recovering from cancer treatments, and has mobility issues. This Milwaukee mower is a beast and simplifies her mowing exponentially. I'm jealous of her having this mower while I'm still using the Ryobi, but the Ryobi hasn't failed me yet after more than five years.

I bought it for the 3 yr warranty including the batteries 🔋 Plus it was hard to find much negative info.

That thing is probably more reliable than new stuff out there. The only thing that would stop me with a mower like this is cutting height. Lots of older stuff didn't cut at 4" and that what I cut at.

I appreciate being able to mow at the crack of dawn in central Texas. The mower sounds remind me of growing up and having a 20" box fan in a window. My neighbors on each side of me are my age. Either the sound of a box fan will not be offensive, or they have as much hearing loss as I, therefore will never know I'm outside working anyway.
