Bought a '24 Titan after long search ....

Nice truck !
Question do they still place the starter under the intake ?
Unfortunately yes :(

Nice looking truck and a very good deal. ~$20k under the competition is some serious coin saved.
I thought so too! Hard bargain to pass up.

Nice truck! A coworker of mine has one and he loves it. He traded in a Tacoma for his Titan.
You definitely have to drive one, but they are great.

Probably the most reliable 1/2 ton you can still currently buy. Congrats .
Couldn't agree more 🍻

When you consider that FI engines start almost instantly, starter replacement is of little concern.
These trucks have long been in the such a deal segment of the market.
Not sure why when they have a real DOHC V-8 as opposed to some wimpy turbo engine.
Enjoy your Titan and I wish you many happy years and miles of use.

Greatly appreciated! Plan on keeping it as long as we can get parts for it.

Thanks!

Couple of reminder drives after a few days of owning it nothing huge.

- I thought it did not have home link as I couldn't find the button, turns out they are on the bottom side of the rearview mirror.

- wish the rear doors open just a little bit wider.

Otherwise still a blast.

There are multiple versions of the homelink as you've discovered, mine is on the bottom as well on my 23. It took me a few tries to get it to link up but has been good since then, my previous vehicle was a 16' QX50 with the old system and you had to hold down the buttom instead of a quick push, the new ones are an improvement in my opinion.

We can’t get our 24 Pathfinder to connect to our garages.

Probably replacing the garage door opener systems to link up.

When we bought the pathfinder,l for the wife, I was looking at the Titan for me.

Dealer advised me not to as they weren’t going to make them anymore. He knows I like to keep vehicles for a long time.

I heard the same thing back in 2022 from my Nissan dealer, when I bought my 2022 Frontier. That's not an issue for me anyway. They've readily admitted to me they tried not to stock Titans and Frontiers due to slow sales of them, but they get what they get from Nissan and have to deal with that.

Following everything Nissan for a long time given the ones I've owned (and currently own), the 2017+ 5.6L is a very different engine from the earlier 5.6's. They have a totally different cylinder head design and cam timing/phasing components, plus the addition of GDI. The earlier MPI 5.6's were reliable beasts. I believe there was a 2017+ Armada owner here at one point that had to clean IVD's several times. I've also seen 1-2 severely sludged 2017+ videos from stretching OCIs too long. Knowing what I know from my previous VQ35DD, I personally wouldn't stretch OCIs at all. These are ~$13K engines that are cost prohibitive to rebuild.

I do love the Jatco copy of the MB 9G-Tronic on my 2022 Frontier. As far as I know, it's the same transmission in the 2020+ Titan. Again, only concern is the replacement cost of them, again the luck number $13K.

My issue was the erasure of the previous owners, bought my 23 used and there was still something stored. I unfortunately forget the series, but it wasn't what is on the instructions but was kinda close. Basically I messed with it until I got the correct light response from the mirror. You also want to make sure the batteries on the opener you're using are fresh.

Yes, it is a different engine for sure. I've heard mixed things on the intake deposits. My wifes Armada wasn't giving any trouble after 63K miles and my brothers Titan is doing well at 90K now. I'm sure there's deposits but performance is still strong. Agreed on the trans, very nice unit.

My plan on this is 4-5k OCI's with high quality oil. Also will frequently do Fuel cleaners with some sort of italian tune-up, perhaps like the one Buster just posted.
Congratulations. It's a beauty

Thank you much!

Good to know. Was your Armada and your brother's Titan the newer GDI version?

Yes sir, '17 Armada and '19 Titan. I have seen a video or two online of cleaning the valves that had heavy buildup. I'm just going to over-maintain and hope for the best.

Cool. So the only real difference between those and your 2024 is the "new" 9spd AT.

I don't have concerns with the VQ38DD in my 2022 Frontier. It's been flawless since I bought it with 2K miles on it. It also doesn't blacken the engine oil nearly as bad as the problematic VQ35DD did in my 2019 Pathfinder.
