That's a slam dunk for you. Flipping it or keeping it? Those things were friggen tanks on tires!
Win-win for the win!My wife is deep into the hiring process for a property management position, It requires being able to pull a 3,500# trailer if needed but with a sizeable vehicle stipend.
If she gets the job...
Full rebuild of the L31 I have
Rebuild/upgrade the 4L60E
New U-joints & Carrier Bearing
Welded aluminum radiator, New Water Pump & Fan Clutch
Bearings in the 8.5" axle.
Check the front end out, Bilstein B6's
Front end & brakes
Michelin LTX's
If she doesn't.....I need a shop truck now that I sold my 2000 Silverado to my daughter.....It will get the bare minimum to make it road worthy, Remove the 2nd & 3rd row seats & bolt down a 3/16" sheet of steel with tie downs, storage for chains/rope/straps & Tool chest with basic hand tools & a couple mid torque impacts.
Dual batteries & a fuel transfer switch & plumbing to fill my mowers/pressure washer & vehicles that "Ain't got no gas in 'em"
Not that it matters in the least, but how are the door hinge pins and door check rollers?![]()
Never thought I'd see a Yukon with a rear engine! Was at Summit Racing picking up some parts & decided to browse the "scratch & dent" outlet store.....What do you know.....A new GM 4-bolt main, forged crank L31 crate motor with damaged valve covers for $4000.
I officially have more money into this Suburban than it's worth & haven't turned a bolt yet
The help at Summit wasn't much help getting it loaded into my old man's Yukon....Had to buy a 3 pound Milwaukee sledge to bust the pallet off the bottom, Then load up all the wood shrapnel....I didn't just leave it in the parking lot.
Must of been 120° on that concrete.......I was soaking wet on the way home!
