The gal that drove the car before NEVER got into it. I just did a couple ITU's and it's already running better. Can't wait to get some PI in there. Then I'll do the MMO oil change.

As for the mounts - I have no idea as to the condition of the others. The thing has more mounts than Carter's has pills.....I can see the front let go, but the engine doesn't even budge with full body force.

Couldn’t agree more.

Majestic Honda is where I buy all my OEM Honda parts. The exploded parts view they have online is great for finding everything you need for a project.

I did recently divert a little from OEM Honda stuff and got NGK plug wires through Amsoil. Aside from being blue, the NGK plug wires look and fit about the same as stock.

I also forked out the extra money and gave NGK Iridium IX spark plugs a try.

The new plugs, wires along with a new cap and rotor helped out with idle quality and throttle response immensely.

All this in a 1997 Honda Civic EX.

Please tell me what an ITU is.

I know what MMO is, but what's an MMO oil change?

PI is, I presume some stuff in a fuel injector cleaner?

ITU = Italian Tune Up, blowing it out, getting on it at hard, high RPM's.

MMO = Marvel Mystery Oil, this oil change I'll put a quart of MMO towards the end with a filter swap. Many variations on BITOG.

PI = Amsoil PI (PI Link) One of the top fuel injector/intake/combustion chamber cleaners.

Oh, I see. So, the MMO tends to clean out the motor, or lubes it better, or both?

It's tough to discount a single bottle. I'll see what I can do - Shoot me a PM if interested.

Thanks,

B12! Seafoam is not near as strong!

IMHO....

Well I cleaned the engine bay really good (looks way cleaner than the Volvu) - Simple Green made it nice.

I dumped a pint of MMO in the crankcase. Living dangerously. I'll dump the other pint in next weekend or so when I change the earl.

I can't wait to get that mount.

Them's fightin' words for some folks. There's some who swear B12 is up there with paint thinner while SeaFoam is little more than rubbing alcohol. I find them to be about the same in practice, but I choose B12 because it's cheaper.

It sounds like you've already ordered the motor mount(s), so....

If the old mounts aren't falling apart, you can shore them up with inserts. One or two companies (Prothane and Energy Suspension, I think) make urethane MM inserts that are reasonably easy to install and do a good job.

Dang I was gonna ask if there are replacement urethane bushings!! That's what I did on my Volvo.

I'm off to search. Thanks!

Well it isn't jewel, but I'm workin' on it.

I'll get pics later.

I bought some cheap oil and a Fram OF today!! Well you conventional nuts, are well, a bit nuts. PYB, $3 quart?? No thanks for a rinse oil. Instead I bought 5 qt jug of Shell formulaclean or somesuch - $13.99!! I'm sorry, M1 was more than I pay for Amsoil - way more! (at Shuck's) I'll run the current oil a bit longer, then I'll put this stuff in. Run it for a week, dump the rest of the MMO in, another week. Then put Amsoil AME 15W-40 HDEO 3 qts with a qt of MMO and another filter and run that for a month or so. Finally I'll switch over to Amsoil synthetic for 6 month intervals while watching consumption closely.

I bought her some wiper blades too. At $7.99 and $9.99 (Shuck's) I should have just bought them with my Amsoil account.

If you have a Wallyworld and aren't one of those who oppose stepping foot in one, then PYB is only $11.50 for a 5 qt jug and someplaces less.
