Good Morning BITOGERS. Few more large filters from member getawheel. The note on side of can that was wrote in marker is wore mostly off. Anyways, bottom metal end cap was completely separated from element. AND, as usual: shoddy Purolator Quality Control as gnarly tear at seam end. Not at all impressed. Enjoy the photos

Ouch. This is disappointing. I think this was the filter which came off my Ranger at the last oil change. It was run for 10k and 10 months.

I ran another filter from the same batch for 10k before that and it was superb when I cut it open. We’ll see what the one that’s on there now looks like. I have a few more of these on the shelf but afterwards I’ll be switching to either Wix, FRAM, or Champ for my shop filters.

I think anything Bosch filtration wise except the Distance + filters are garbage. Here is proof. What a dumpster fire Mann+Hummel make eh🤔🤔

Yup

I have used Mann + Hummel filters on my last 2 Hyundai's and they were quality filters OEM 26300-35504

That is the sad thing, M+H can turn out quality filters, they just don't for Bosch and Purolator.

How many miles on the filter?

Doh! Meant to say yes it’s very disappointing. Shame that P1 off my friends Camaro had assembly string and it even did better. I’m kinda glad I sold my dual anti siphon Puro classics to a friend that has a older Zetec powered Ford.

Well fellas I'm slowly making the switch from Purolator to Fram. I usually run Motorcraft fl1a on my Ford V8. But in my 88 Ford truck is always had a fluctuating oil pressure gauge that most people say is because of the sending unit. Well it's new, nothing changed. I tried a Fram ph8a filter guage now has no fluctuation. Could oil filters really be causing that?

During what conditions was the pressure gauge fluctuating? Idle, higher PRM, cold oil, hot oil, etc?

Idle and cruising. Temp didnt matter. Higher rpm it would stay higher.
You must have a different setup than my '89 F-450 ('91 F-150 cab), I thought the gauge was just a switch? Mine never changes, it's always in the same place. I need to run a mechanical or electrical oil pressure gauge, I have no real idea what it runs.
