I buy most my automotive stuff at autozone mainly because of convenience. I run mobil 1 filters on my dodge cummins because they are not much higher than any other filter for that engine. I maintain my wifes 2000 malibu and my mom's 2001 crv. The choices for more resonable priced filters are bosch, stp, fram, and ac delco. Often, they are out of the ac delco for my wifes car. I won't use a fram. My choices are pretty much between the bosch and stp filters. Bosch is about five to six bucks and the stp is about three bucks. Between these two, which would yall use and why?

STP, supposed to have pretty good filter media.
I would go with the Bosch for your moms crv. If your moms crv uses the same filter as my '03 civic, then the stp isn't the best choice.
STP still lists the 6607 filter for my civic, which is a tiny filter. It's much smaller than what every other company offers. So next time you go to AZ, i'd compare the size of the two

That Duralast-Bosch Premium for around $6.99 is a better wallet-value than the Mobil 1. Personal opinion, a Wix/Napa Gold is the best filter for your hard-earned dollar. Get em' cheap at Fleetfilter.com
What about a 3593A?
Your limited only by size and clearance. The 3950 is even bigger. Note, Most of the Champ filters are Ecore now. They have mostly gone to a clicker bypass in the dome end of the none Ecores. Some bad mouth the clicker, and I don't like dome end bypasses. Ecore and clicker are easy to tell apart, the Ecore has a plastic cage inside, and the clicker has a metal tube with a circle of holes in the dome end.
