Yes it caught some metals particles. Not alot as you can see but any I can take out of the oil flow is good to me.

You can see them at the bottom of the filter as "shadowing". The particles are very small and almost like fine powder.

I was hoping to see more but with over 100,000 miles I assume most of the heavy wear is over.

**The first pic is right off the car. The second pic is after swishing some paint thinner in the can to clean the oil out.

Put some neodymium dot magnets on the inlet side so they touch the oil. You'll be much more impressed for much less money.

They're basically a Purolator PureONE.

+1 ... do you think it has the same exact filter media as the PureONE? I see it has the silicon ADBV.

I've used a couple Bosch filters on my moms car, and the efficiency rating (96.2% or something like that) was the same for both the Bosch and the blue PureONE's I now have for it. As far as I can tell, the only difference is that the PureONE gets different paint, and a teflon coated gasket.

The new yellow PureONEs are at 99.9% ... so I'm wondering if the Bosch is using the regular Purolator filtering media.

I think I had the numbers wrong. The blue PureONE's I have say 98%, and I'm almost positive that the Bosch filters said the same thing.

For some reason 96.2 was stuck in my head. I think that's the efficiency of the standard Purolator filters.

You had to have put these in manually. It took a couple of takes to figure out how Quattro got them to show.
