Bosch 3331. Off of a 2000 Buick Century 3.1 w/ 80k on unit. Used for 5k oci with Valvoline Maxlife 5w30.

Can was decently sturdy. The end caps were secured tightly to the media. Though the media was unevenly spaced all the way around. The ADBV was very stiff for supposedly being silicone. Felt more like
nitrile, but didn’t seem to have any cracks in it.

Doesn't look like silicone. Clean it up with rubbing alcohol and do a burn test if you want to find out for sure.

It it's orange, then most likely silicone. If it felt stiff, then probably just because it's thicker than other ADBVs that are silicone. The ring around the center hole looks thick on that ADBV. The thinner area outside of that center ring should feel more flexible.

I've used several of these filters. I was under the impression they were clones of the Purolator One which I've also used. The Bosch filters are a bit cheaper than the Purolator.

They probably were basically clones of each other before Bosch sold their share of Purolator to M+H.

Two code samples Bosch 3325 bought in the past three weeks. Each $5.94, one from Amazon, one from Home Depot. Not the first time I have seen HD have the same prices as Amazon things. Free shipping on both.

What is your criteria for making this statement?
That the filter didn't tear apart is plainly evident, but beyond that?

It's beginning to look like filter divisions of companies are tradable assets. It seems odd as I have no business acumen.

One company sells a product line and another buys a product line. Labor, materials, site and marketing is involved.
Where's the benefit to shifting these seemingly finite assets around?

How many of each part number can they sell to effect any real change in cash flow/earnings dynamics?

The AFI (both China and Vietnam) filters are getting lots of love here.
The two CarQuest filters I just bought, one for a Nissan, one for a Volvo were made in Vietnam and Poland, respectively.
I've long assumed that specific machines are set up for a limited ranges of product production. The oil filter for my aging Volvo might just be made on the one last line anywhere in the world set up for its size. Nothing more nefarious than that.

I feel the same way about an oddly sized tire.
Is a known tire company going to build the molds and form the soft carcasses for some small fraction of the market when they can buy time on an existing line. All they have to do is spec or supply materials and change the words on the sidewall.

In short... business's evolve. Always have. You have to ask those companies for specifics.

Noticed that also when shopping for some DENSO oil filters. Both Amazon and HD have the same pricing and also the same remaining stock inventory numbers.

There is some synergy going on there.

In the pics, adbv looks to be black. "If" so, then in greatest likelihood, it is nitrile. I've used many "US" made BP with adbv that is red/orange silicone. What is the coo of the topic filter? Recent Bosch Premium have shown a move to Mexico coo, anecdotes of very poor quality. I wouldn't even consider purchase now. Beyond that, what I can see looks like the filter did its job for the 5k mi. fci.

Until production moved to Mexico a while back, excepting the PTFE treated sealing gasket on P1, they were basically identical. The Mexico made ones, not close to the quality of the US made. Topic filter does not have a date code format indicating made in same factory as P1. The previous US made with date starting in 'F' that I c&p here, all did.
