My son's been away from the car for a while. He got around to changing the plugs, and still has the code. The plug in the #4 cyl was fouled with what he descriped as gas. He and a buddy will TS the coil and see what's what with that. He's got a lot going on and couldn't do anything more than change out the plugs. Any good sources for a coil for his 2000 323i? Is there a certain brand the BMW's prefer? I see a lot of different brands of coils Rock auto offers.

Thanks,

The rubber boots that connect the coil pack to the plug are a failure point on these engines. I would replace all 6 when doing the plugs at that age/mileage. The coil packs are individual units, one per cylinder. I would go OEM on those if you want them to last; check AutohausAZ for better than dealer pricing.
