Bluetooth battery testers?

I’m looking at the ThinkCar version of this: https://a.co/d/2BI7l3v

It’s basically a fancy Bluetooth-enabled battery test that uses an app. I have the ThinkCar app for a ThinkDiag2.

While it’s nowhere as precise as say, a Midtronics tester/charger the dealership/parts store uses or capable of doing a controlled load like a carbon pile tester, it would be nice to go beyond a DMM. For the hobbyist, will this work fine for my needs?

If you already have a multimeter, learn how to measure volts and the ohms for the battery's resistance number which that device most likely does.

many wouldnt have an ohm range accurate or suitable for a battery.

That’s what I think too, a typical DMM can measure up to a kilo ohm. The Midtronics testers use a micro capacitance “measure” via algorithm that comes close to a pile tester.
